Posted by Dave Vandyke Obituary – Has Died: David Joseph Van Dyke, 77 of Newark died calmly at home on March 5, 2020, with his darling spouse of 59 years, Sylvia “Jean” Van Dyke close by alongside his child, James D. Van Dyke, and his better half, Kim.
David was brought into the world in Wilmington, the child of the late, Doris (Finch) and Herman Van Dyke. He was an alum of Conrad High School and resigned from Wonder Bread Company following 35 years. He delighted in investing energy with his family and going for strolls with his dear companions at the shopping center. Notwithstanding his folks, David was predeceased by his little girl, Joan Van Dyke, and his sibling, Donald Van Dyke.
David will be tragically and affectionately missed by his significant other, Sylvia Jean Van Dyke; his child and girl in-law, James and Kim Van Dyke of Wilmington; his grandkids, Eric Van Dyke and his better half Mallory, Shannon and Jamie Van Dyke, Carl Simms, Brandon and Nick Van Dyke; his extraordinary grandkids, Ayden, Averie and Austin Brodie and Julianna and Sam Gray; his sibling, Daniel Van Dyke of Newark; his sisters and their spouses, Diane and Tom Mabe of Baltimore, MD and Debbie and John Gadzinski of Wilmington and his sister-in-law, Joyce Van Dyke of Newark.
Companions might call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11:30 AM. A burial service will begin at 11:30 AM. The entombment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
