Cairns Central Death – Cause of Death: A man has passed on after his throat was cut in a Cairns retail plaza after a squabble coming about because of a “chance occurring”, police say.
The 35-year-elderly person kicked the bucket at Cairns Central mall around 8 am on Wednesday.
A 39-year-elderly person, who police accept to be answerable for the man’s passing, is in care yet has not been charged.
Police are trying to decide whether the two men are known to one another.
“The slash is to the throat and he passed roughly 20 minutes after the injuries were incurred,” Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said.
“Our prompt data is that it seems to have been a possibility occurring.
“The wrongdoer was undaunted in what he expected.”
Goan said there was a “measure of blood all over” and there were “various observers”.
He said the squabble happened on the ground floor of the retail plaza.
The middle has been shut and a rejection zone has been set up to build up the crime location, with general society requested to stay away from Bunda, Spence, and McLeod, and Aplin roads.
Police are seeing CCTV and are endeavoring to distinguish observers.
