Joe Burvan Obituary – Dead: A note I got a tremendous bite of a month earlier affected some evaluations that made the current week’s Memory Lane on the late Joe Burvan.
Burvan was a pivotal four-sport contender at Cumberland High School (shortly Carmichaels) in the last piece of the 1950s. Burvan won 16 college cards in soccer, ball, Olympic-style events, and baseball.
On the grass is where Burvan did his carving. He has completed administrative work for the Mikes backfield from his freshman year until he graduated in 1960. His first year he was in the Mikes group that fell to Braddock, 38-0, in the WPIAL Class A title game. He was in meetings that posted records of 9-1 in 1956, 7-3 in 1957, and 5-5 in 1958 and 6-3 in every 1959.
