Sources have certified that Johnson’s young lady called with the news late last evening.
“He had been certified to go to Deon’s [Silvera] party tomorrow and said he couldn’t hold on to move off his feet at the social event,” the source said.
Johnson had been related to the theatre for more than 50 years.
During the 1980s, the useful Johnson did a couple of pantomimes ( Tantaloo, Trash and Schoolers among them), Ginger Knight plays (checking Higglers, Stepfather and Room For Rent), and Basil Dawkins’ manifestations, from that period loosening up into the 1990s. One of the Dawkins plays, Toy Boy, won Johnson the Actor Boy Award for Best Actor in 1996.
He acted in his first emotional creation while going to St Andrew Technical High School in Kingston.
